Leigh has been rowing for more than 25 years. Since 2015, she has enjoyed coaching beginning and experienced rowers alike, in both sliding-seat and fixed-seat rowboats. She has twice completed the 750-mile Race to Alaska twice in a sliding-seat rowboat, as well as the Washington 360 adventure race. Rowing races have taken her to the Charles River in Boston, Lake Natoma in California, the Scilly Isles of Cornwall, and many points around New England. When she is not rowing or working on the water, she enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, writing, hiking, and doing just about anything with her daughters Rose and Delphine. Leigh co-owns Rowing to Wild LLC, a coastal rowing excursion business based in Belfast, Maine. She also works as a captain for Camden Harbor Cruises and as a deckhand on the 55-foot ketch Morning in Maine out of Rockland. She is a long-time rower and volunteer coxswain with ComeBoating, a community rowing organization, and serves on the board of Penobscot Bay Waterkeeper, a non-profit focused on protecting the Penobscot River's watershed.
